Let's Get Acquainted
This blog came about my wanting to keep a record and to share my experiences, challenges , the learning curves, achievements and hick-ups, the many ups and downs of a new and unknown adventure, the ability of two city slickers to live and run as hobby farmers, to rescue animals and to be off grid and self -sufficient as possible.
We own a Harley Tourer and love getting out and about on it and we are excited to travel to the many treks and trails around the Farm ( but equally excited about buying an ATV)
Rob is a linehaul truck driver and is as excited as I am on this amazing adventure and with hopes of being semi retired by the end of 2025.
I suffer from a array of autoimmune issues as well as CP and CF along with arthritis and Fibromyalgia - so this is is a journey of discovery of myself and my body as well as our relationship and our ability to adapt and change with the seasons, with each other and with the many unknowns that will confront us.
I had to give up work a few years ago due to health issues and the black dog of depression came and stayed for a while - I lost myself for a while but I have been very lucky to say that I am now drug free and using other methods to help me through and this journey is part of that.
I have retaught myself how to crochet and this has been a godsend for not only my MH but for the arthritic joints in my hands - so be warned of the crochet blanket spam photos :)
I am also a keen gardener who has come a long way from having a brown thumb when the kids lived at home to a very green one since becoming an empty nester
